Harlequin's The Boss' Surprise Son By Theresa Carpenter

The Boss's Surprise Son by Theresa Carpenter is a solid story about a secretary temp who goes on business trip with her boss and becomes attracted to him. Or rather, they become attracted to each other.

The story is not about the "boss's son" at all. Because 70% of the book is about their attraction to each other, the couple fighting their attraction, and eventually hooking up. 20% is spent detailing the aftermath of their affair and 10% deals with the pregnancy. The child isn't even born until the last two or three pages of the story.

One of the other things I noticed is the lack of love scenes. There was only the one hook up. However, I like how the couple love each other, instead of the same formula of a harried female trying to resist the potent libido of a rude hero. He's not some horndog but someone who genuinely likes the heroine because of her bright and cheery personality.

I'd give it 3 1/2 stars
